catch up

a bit of a catch up on the studio and the art focus... i put my writing on hold back in march in efforts to try and create a creative business, fusing art, photography, design and furniture. i opened the first studio on old 421 outside of town and slowly became an artsy craig's list showroom:)

adding furniture to my list of wares was seamless, as i have been tinkering with recasting furniture since my days back in LA in 1999. it has proven to be my baseline and just as of late, after opening up with andy downtown, have i been selling off the walls. but the increased exposure had not been magical in relation to sales. my next goal needs to be creating something i can sell under $50 and mass produce, while still having a "one off" appeal.

not sure if it will ever be a sustainable business model for me here in boone. the size of the town, the demographic, the economy and lets face it my work does not scream mountain town:) but im loving it and learning a lot about patience and small business endeavors.
