what a great road trip, basically starting at sea level and making my way back into the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. red got in the ocean, walked the french quarter and made all kinds of friends. i got to see a lot of people who are dear to me and revisit old stomping grounds.
the weather started out great and quickly i became a magnet for rain. i had gracious hosts along the way, ate some great food and finished the two week event in New Orleans, depleting all the energy i had left:) my return was bitter sweet, having to put my father into the hospital on the night of my arrival. he is still in the hospital, receiving dialysis, after his kidneys crashed tuesday night. the highs and lows of life are always present and will certainly give you perspective.
