thanks to all of you who participated in brainstorming for the name of my new studio. as i said, the name is right above the door so it was probably a no brainer, plus the initials remind me of the high country (THC)... done deal:)

spent my first night here last night and awoke to 3 inches of snow. i decided it was a great day to get started on the hanging and organizing.... something that never stops if you know me:) the loft lacks a bit of storage but thats a great exercise in minimalism. also my couch is not in the space, for i cannot move it solo, so ill wait till i make a friend:)

i have a month and a half until i open. lots of landscaping, painting and framing some photos will keep me busy.
loving everything so far and i hope all of you will come and visit this groovy spot and town.  taos baby!!

took a quick drive to las vegas, first time in many years. it was my brothers bday, got to see chris and the parents were there as well. as always had a great time and got a day in red rocks. downtown las vegas (not the strip) is really booming and is now the home to a great old friend, blake. got to see her for a bit, good past blast:)

a lot can go down in two weeks... the earthship i had my eye on for 3 years came off the market, i got in a bidding war for an in town condo, and lost, and on friday i will sign a lease on the pictured loft. this is a live work space, so i can get the studio rolling for the art season, while being patient on buying.

the howell building, or possibly the howell loft? sits on top of two big galleries in the plaza area of downtown taos.  it was the home of an older woman who owned the building for years. she was very involved in local politics and it has been said that govenor richardson was a frequent guest, to soak in the views from the 2 roof top decks.

i think this will be a great venue to make a splash in this small art town and am excited to finally get busy on some creativie endeavors. i have also been very fortunate to have some interior work up in colorado to put some g's in the pocket:) stay tuned for new website and new images of the space.

other than that loving taos, biking everywhere, doing tons of yoga at the hip, shree yoga. loving the vibe of the people here. very chill, laid back, friendly and most importantly there is an undeniable funkiness here...sweet.
