this dog loves water and i guess that includes snow... she was so excited this morning to see four inches of freshy on the ground that she didn't want to come inside.

i rented the studio this week to a lovely young artist out of denver. bitter sweet for sure, but so happy that another fun energy will be in this space. this loft is one of my favorites dwellings of all times. so, once again someone else gets to live out this little dream for me. kind of like the great couple who bought my dragonfly house:)
oh well, its not the first time and i love all my adventures... just late having to pack the truck so soon:) here is to THC studio and sally howell, what a sweet space to have gotten to know and feel taos. i love this town and hope to return many times. i do a lot of biking in this town, and in general biking in taos is always great. today was an especially beautiful fall day to be out on the bike. gotta love it:)
i truly got lucky with this pup. she proved to be quite the perfect lady and traveled like a pro. with 3400 miles on her and a chance to hang in the streets of new orleans... she is off to a good start. my niece got married this weekend and what a spectacle it was. my sister, her mother, catered the affair and my older sister made all the dresses, the beginning of wedding dress business, and the beginning of a great union withe her and parker.
while all this was going on we had a family meeting to decide were to move the parents...time to absorb them into one of our living environments. the decision was in weatherford, tx. on my sisters small farm. i have agreed to move there as well and help in this stage of my dads life. so here we go again, back to texas, a state i have lived in many times. coming up, an airstream and a small farm. sounds like an opportunity to keep writing, grow some food, and go back to school. new beginnings for all. permanency is something that has eluded me my whole life, 34 moves blah, blah. blah. years ago i found one thing that gave me that feeling, tattoos. my first in was in 1986, i was 20 and even then i knew and welcomed the commitment. today it has the same comfort but admittedly used as an excuse to feed the addiction, the enjoyment of the aesthetic. so for my 48th, a native, nature inspired tattoo to motivate me to write.
its great to see big things happen in a small town, even if you don't know the music. on a fabulous post rain evening here in taos, the plaza was rockin. good drink, good friends and good music, not a bad thursday night.
its that time of year again. time for the annual unveiling, humbling, expose, critique, etc... of the half bday suit... this has been a tradition of mine for some time, something that keeps me motivated to be
somewhat shirtless worthy. it is evident that ole boy needs to drop about 10 lbs of fat. seems like it was that way last year too, but i may have put on a bit more muscle this year. see you at 49:) the summer series, taos live, has been rolling for a few months now. most of the time i slide open the door to the back deck and listen from the roof top. yesterday i had to go because the first band i heard in taos was playing. katy p and the business, rocked the stage as always. this girl has a killer voice, very soulful with a great range... and she is sexy to boot. but that doesn't tell the whole story. the drummer is one of the best is heard in some time and the the two guitarist are both holding their own making this one of the best bands to hear and dance to in taos. like i said the first time i saw them on a tuesday night in the alley cantina... way to rock taos katy p.
very fun stuff at one of the most eclectic events in taos. glam trash is an annual fashion show showcasing recyclable creativity and outrageous fashion. it was in a great location for the people to really soak in the crazy. congrats to nicole for a great show and a fabulous crowd.
